A Reflection From Lisa S

I think sometimes we forget who Jesus is, especially when we sin. We feel ourselves so unworthy to approach Him, which in human standards makes sense. When family and friends come over do we not clean up the house to make it appear organized and perfect? Is that not sometimes how we approach God? We must be perfect before Him, then we can receive His love. But oh how the very opposite is true!
God wants us, all of us. He wants our shame, our brokenness, our sin. He wants every part of us that we feel is unlovable. It is there that Christ proves His love for us, that He loves our unlovableness. This is the very grace of the sacrament of Reconciliation! It is where we come before Jesus, broken yet again, and He says,"I'll have ALL of you."

It is there that we find our identity again, as we kiss the feet of Him who chose not to condemn us (John 8) but who took the condemnation Himself. So yes, my friend, He will have ALL of you, every last bit of you, because where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more (Romans 5:20).
